Description
A precision tribrach is a high-accuracy mounting base used to securely position surveying instruments like total stations, theodolites, GNSS antennas, and prisms. It enables instruments to be repeatedly placed over control points with sub‑millimeter precision, thanks to level adjustment screws, a locking mechanism, and a circular bubble vial. Many models include an optical plummet, often a twist-focus eyepiece with about 2.5× magnification, to help align the setup accurately over survey markers (typically within 0.5 mm at 1.5 m). Precision tribrachs may also offer 360° rotation, allowing instrument orientation adjustments without disturbing the setup. Crafted from sturdy aluminum or metal alloys, they deliver rugged performance in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Compact and portable, these accessories streamline field alignment and reduce measurement errors.
